Ode to My Companion Cube
by ~Lt-SandstormOh Companion Cube,
I wish you ill.
The trouble you bare me,
Is it all really worth it?
But then I remember,
Those days back in Aperture Labs,
Where you, my only friend,
Kept me company, made me glad.
Never once did you stab me.
Speak once, did you not,
But words, said you many.
And lonely, I was not.
Now I find myself,
Reconstructing your lost pieces.
For lonely am I,
Without your ever silent presence.
But begin to question my perseverance, have I.
For your structure crude,
And your corners, they are fickle.
Lo the band saw blade runs dull,
And the miter saw will have nothing of your shenanigans.
But press on will I,
Sand paper wearing at my finger tips.
I long for your presence,
Without you my heart is still.
